STORY PLOT
"The Railway Man" is a film based on the autobiography of Eric Lomax. In World War II, Eric Lomax (Colin Firth) is a British Army officer who was captured by the Japanese army in Singapore. He was sent to a labor camp where he had worked in the construction Thai-Burma railway line. During the camp, he was often tortured, beaten and saw the Japanese army atrocities against his fellow prisoners.
After the war ended, he suffered trauma and had to undergo rehabilitation. His wife, Patti (Nicole Kidman) tries to help her husband to fight the trauma. After decades, Lomax found that Japanese officers, Takashi Nagase (Hiroyuki Sanada) is responsible for all the suffering, is still alive.
Accompanied by a good friend (Stellan Skarsgard), Lomax trying to get back to where he was tortured and came back to see Nagase. Now, he must try to resolve the existing problems between them.
